“New Romantics” is a cynical song about naive young lust, mistaken for love. At a young age any type of connection can feel like true and utter love. Although it can be toxic and sex fuelled, the slight hope of this type of relationship turning into something more masks the obvious imperfections. Cynically labeling any relationship as “New Romantics” because no one else has, understands or supports your “love” pulls your mind deeper into this rabbit hole.

This song was written with the idea to throw caution to the wind from time to time and act on pure emotion and infatuation.
The inspiration for “Back To You” is my girlfriend Morgan.
We met last spring May 9th 2020, to be exact. This song was a surprise gift for our one-year-anniversary.
I began performing driveway concerts near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and Morgan booked the very first show! Since then, we have been attached from the hip and even moved into an apartment together. Because I was performing all over Alberta Morgan tagged along taking professional photos at all the shows. It was so much fun being able to travel with my best friend and the love of my life. It also has taken us quite a bit of work together to overcome the hurt from past relationships and the pain they’ve left us with. But, through great communication and understanding it feels like our relationship is stronger day by day and it feels great to come back to her every day!
“Time” is a custom song written for a couple. We sat and chatted for two hours and they told me that they had matching tattoos. The tattoo was a saying, “In this lifetime, and in the next”. They believed that they were together in a past lifetime, this lifetime and the next. The song is based on love and the construct of time.
Anna and I sat down and she told me all about her late husband who passed away four years ago. I got to meet a man through the stories of his still loving wife. Written as a surprise for their daughters and from their point of view, “Forever & Always” is a tribute to a great man and a loving father.
